Law Governing Medical Practitioners and Dentists

The SHI-physician/dentist legislation is the law governing outpatient care providers in the SHI system, e.g. doctors, dentists, psychotherapists and medical care centres. We advise and represent our clients comprehensively throughout their entire professional life, from the purchase of a practice and admission or authorisation for the provision of care under the statutory health insurance system, to their departure, including succession authorisation and sale of the practice.

We are competent contact partners when it comes to the amount and legitimacy of the remuneration, and represent doctors, other service providers, plaintiff associations and professional associations nationwide in dealings with the Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.

We help to find the right one among the plethora of cooperation possibilities such as (partial) professional association/joint practice, group practice, ambulatory health care centres or device sharing alliances, conduct negotiations and draw up the necessary contracts. We also pave the way for innovative concepts in the SHI system.

We provide support in procedures pertaining to Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and Associations of Panel Dentists (performance audit, accounting audit or plausibility assessment) or against any accusations of breaches of duty under the statutory health insurance system (e.g. personal performance), as a result of which disciplinary or authorisation revocation procedures are initiated. We advise and support our clients vis-à-vis licensing authorities, arbitration bodies and bodies responsible for combating misconduct in the healthcare system.
